The Gospel reading today has an unexpected ending after the fanfare of songs and praising God that accompanied Jesus into Jerusalem. What is commemorated by Christians as Palm Sunday- this is a start of a week of remembrance for Christians referred to as Holy Week. It ends with the celebration of Easter. Mark 11:11 SAYS: “He went into Jerusalem and into the temple. After looking around at everything, since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.”

QUESTIONS??

What happen ? Did the temple administrators forget that Jesus the King was coming? where is the welcoming committee? who in the right mind will welcome a King in such a way?

BE FILL WITH FAITH

We may have a lot of questions on our own road to Jerusalem, the conclusion may not make sense but “Be Faithful” to Jesus Christ who is walking with you. He understand it all and He has intimate knowledge of what you will face and why you are facing. Some wrote this week:
“On Palm Sunday, ponder the courage of Jesus traveling the road into Jerusalem amid a jubilant crowd, knowing full-well these cheers would change to jeers and his offer of peace would come at the cost of his life. May we find courage to face persecution for the greater good of God’s plan.” There is nowhere you can find the courage to face suffering for the name of Jesus then to BE FAITHFUL TO JESUS CHRIST AND BEING A DOER OF HIS WORD.

FACING REJECTION

Jesus had the courage to enter into Jerusalem because He was fill with faith in God. He knew that when the rejection was done, when the betrayers has done their worse, when the mockers where done, the beating and finally killed him, yet God will keep His promises. Jesus knew all this (Mark 10:33-34) Nothing was a surprising to the Lord.

WAVING OUR PALMS

When we are done waving our palm branches and singing “Hosanna” Save us will we be faithful to Jesus Christ through the rejection, betrayer, hatred and suffering that will come? In Matt. 24:9-13 Jesus encourage his followers to be prepared to be arrested, persecuted, hated all over the world, and many will turn away from Him and betray each other “But the person or those who endures (stay faithful) to the end will be saved.”
May I encourage you, if you’re facing suffering on the account of the name of Jesus, Do not be afraid Jesus knows what you are facing and knows what to do. You Be Faithful and stay in Love with the Lord and you will overcome.

THE SUFFERING CHURCH

Many years later, Jesus will write to a little through John in the book of Revelation 2:8-11 to the early Christians suffering, slander, hatred, and poverty in the Church of Smyrna to encourage the congregation that He knows their works- and that the circumstances they are facing that’s about to get worse to test their faith will make them feel poor BUT they are rich. Our Lord continue to encourage the congregation to “BE FAITHFUL” TO ENDURE AND REMIND STEADFAST IN THEIR FAITH.
It simply means that the Lord was
